Gerry has worked in the transportation industry for more than 20 years. His lifelong passion for aviation began at an early age with his first flight aboard a 1938 built Piper Cub and then discovering the joy of spotting from the top of the old Terminal One in Toronto. Since joining the Airport Watch program, Gerry has served on the 10th Anniversary Committee and regularly volunteers at various aviation events. When he can’t be found at his second home  “The Ottawa Airport” , he can be seen, camera in hand, boarding a regularly scheduled flight with as many stopovers and connections as possible, in order to fly on various aircraft types, but more importantly to get that perfect picture!

Mark McGill

Mark joined the Airport Watch in November 2008 after moving to Ottawa the previous year. Growing up near Toronto, some of his fondest childhood memories involved plane spotting on the roof of Pearson Airport's terminal one parking garage with his father. Since joining the Watch, Mark has served on the 10th Anniversary Committee in addition to volunteering at events such as the 4th Annual Plane Pull Challenge. He hopes to obtain his private pilot license and one day himself be spotted flying in and out of CYOW.

Martin has been spotting airplanes pretty much since he got his driver’s license.  He especially developed an interest in aviation operations when he got a summer job for Transport Canada while in high school.  Part of being a student at Transport Canada included a tour of the Control Tower and radar centre.  Martin can usually be seen around the airport with his son Jeffrey, who also enjoys spotting airplanes (albeit for different reasons). Jacques joined the RCMP in 1986. During his tenure with the Headquarters' National Security Operations Branch he was asked to introduce a Civil Aviation Protective Intelligence Unit in support of various civil aviation security related areas. After playing a founding role in the introduction of the Ottawa's Airport Watch chapter, he established the national Airport Watch Canada committee and has been instrumental in creating other Airport Watch chapters such as Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. As the program's national coordinator, he often speaks to aviation and airport officials, both nationally and abroad. Jacques is a valued source of aircraft related information provided to all chapters and is a dedicated supporter of the Airport Watch program.
